The
Atlantic Regional Training Centre (ARTC) is one of four applied health services
research training programs funded by the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation and the
Canadian Institutes for Health Research through the CADRE (Capacity for Applied and
Developmental Research and Evaluation) initiative. The primary purpose of the ARTC is to
increase health services research capacity throughout Atlantic Canada.
The ARTC is
a collaborative venture among four Atlantic Canada universities - Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Memorial University of Newfoundland,
the University of New Brunswick, and the University of Prince Edward Island. These
are comprehensive institutions with broad based scholarly
capacity which constitute the largest and most influential
research settings in Atlantic Canada. Through the sharing
of resources, and building upon complementary strengths, our
goal is to be an internationally recognized and vibrant applied
health services research training program which ensures an
active cohort of highly trained interdisciplinary investigators
in Atlantic Canada who are competitive in national and international
research.
